tickle tickle :)     The Child and Adolescent Services Research Center (CASRC) at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego is a consortium of over 100 investigators and staff from multiple research organizations in San Diego County, including Rady Children's Hospital, University of California at San Diego, San Diego State University, University of San Diego, and California State University, San Marcos. CASRC has a strategic focus on improvement of public pediatric mental health care through a program of mental health services research that spans clinical epidemiology studies linked to evidence-based practice, effectiveness and quality of care studies, and implementation studies that include organizational, financing, and policy issues. An overarching center perspective of cultural exchange guides an active partnership with major stakeholders in youth mental health care across the public sectors of mental health, child welfare, juvenile justice, substance abuse services, and education. The CASRC mission includes a strong focus on research that informs efforts to decrease racial-ethnic disparities. For highlights of CASRC’s research accomplishments in the past year, click here.

CASRC supports an interdisciplinary staff of over 100 researchers, statisticians, data analysts, and administrative staff. Over the past eighteen years funding for the center has come from a broad base of government agencies and philanthropic foundations, including the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Administration for Children, Youth, and Families (ACYF), the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the State of California, the County of San Diego, and branches of the United States military.

CASRC focuses on mental health care issues for vulnerable children, including children in public service sectors. In addition, CASRC specializes in longitudinal studies of children at risk for development of mental disorders and other problems in psychosocial functioning, and the effectiveness of interventions.
