Children and Domestic Violence (CADV): Effects on Policy and Practices for IPV on Child Placement

The purpose of this project is to improve outcomes for women, children and families affected by IPV in the presence of co-occurring child maltreatment through research on state, county and local variation in policies and practices. The goals are to: 1.) Describe the variation in state, county and local policies and practices related to the issue of co-occurring child maltreatment and IPV; 2.) Assess the impact of these policies and practices on placement of children, services for families and residential stability; and 3.) Report on the child, maternal and system outcomes for cases in the child welfare system with co-occurring IPV known or unknown to caseworkers.
