Medicaid Changes: Perceived Impact on At Risk Children (R03)

Principal Investigator: Laurel Leslie

Funding: AHCPR (9/97-8/99, $80,000)

Examines the enrollment process of 488 high-risk families into one of one of six plans in mandatory Medicaid managed care in San Diego County, investigates the effect of enrollment on access to, continuity with, and use of primary care services for young children, examines how managed care enrollment interfaces with other factors associated with use of primary care services, and assesses whether home visitation services provide a protective effect for children with regard to access to health care. This research is linked to San Diego Healthy Families America Clinical Trial.
