Measuring Outcomes for Youth Mental Health Services (K01)

Principal Investigator: Ann Garland

Funding: NIMH (7/98-6/03, $700,000)

This is a mentored career development award to enhance knowledge and skills in the methods for implementing outcome assessment protocols in child and adolescent mental health service systems. Two studies are planned: 1) examine the desired outcomes of multiple stakeholders involved in youth mental health care and to examine their perceptions of the burdens, benefits, and validity of a state mandated outcome assessment protocol; and 2) examine the predictive validity of changes in score on commonly used outcome measures related to "real" life outcomes such as school attendance, living environment, and service utilization.
